Package 9 at Banner Desert Medical Center. Interior build out of 295,112 SF area of new 7 story childrens tower hospital addition, I-2 occupancy classification, IB construction type. Square footage of building is reduced from the originally approved 324,600 SF and basement is eliminated as originally approved at permit #BLD2006-08711 as modified by addendum permit BLD2007-04909. As per approved Code Mod BLD2006-12161, pressurized stair enclosures permitted to terminate at and egress through level of exit discharge as per provisions of 2006 IBC. As per approved Code Mod BLD2006-12168, smoke dampers are not required in ducted penetrations of smoke partitions as per provisions of 2006 IBC. As per approved Code Mod #BLD2008-00139 shaft construction at "high lobby space" may be penetrated by ductwork at upper level w/ ductwork enclosed in 2-hour duct wrap & protected at each end by combination smoke & fire dampers w/ special inspection to verify construction as per this Code Mod. Elevator hoistway doors are 1.5 hr rated assemblies. Special inspection required for spray-applied fireproofing. Plans also include renovation of 92,435 SF of exisiting hospital by permit #BLD2006-11617. See case notes for fee comments. Applicant has elected to defer the following fire protection systems:FIRE SPRINKLER SYSTEM, STANDPIPES, FIRE ALARM AND FIRE PUMP. Installation of deferred submittal systems is not permitted until plans have been approved and issued. No Certificate of Occupancy, Certificate of Compliance, or Building Final will be granted until such systems are approved and pass final inspection. Applicant is solely responsible for securing such permits in a timely fashion in accord with their construction schedule.
