Remove existing slate, repair and rebuild (if necessary) underlying brick stairs, put one layer of 1 1/2 inch flagstone on each step and stoop. If intact iron treads and risers are found during repair/rebuild, they will be rehabilitated to the greatest extent possible. The existing historic iron railing and current stairway wall will remain in place.
