Description
Source description

Repair old dilapidated fence that has dangerous barbed wire top portion with a non-barbed wire fence. Fence separates courtyard area of our townhouse and alley parking area of large apartment building. Fence is not viewable from the street or the alley since it is situated in courtyard area between our house and garage. Fence to prevent intrusion from apartment parking area into courtyard area and will be repaired by replacing old 2X4 supports and attaching 5 inch fence boards directly to old fence and removing barbed wire. Also adding five additional 4X4 posts secured to existing posts using three 4 X 1/2 inch carriage bolts. Further, three more 4X4 posts will be secured to fence and placed 36 inches in ground below frost line and with concrete. Length of existing fence is 50 feet and repair will keep same length. Height of exising fence including barbed wire is 9 feet. Repaired fence will lower the height to 8 feet. This is a minimum height given the proximity to a large apartment parking lot and safety concerns of consistent attempts by people to scale the fence or throw large items over the fence.
