Question 1

Is this every Firestone permit?

Accepted Answer

No. These are the 296 permits across 16 metros where "Firestone" was detected by name in the permit description — not a complete census of Firestone installations. Many Firestone jobs never name the brand in the permit text, and we only count covered metros. Treat the counts as a high-confidence floor of detected mentions, not a total.

Question 2

How is "Firestone" detected in a permit?

Accepted Answer

We run named-entity recognition over the permit description and scope text and keep only high-confidence matches. A permit is attributed to Firestone when the brand is named explicitly in that text; permits that installed Firestone equipment without naming it are not counted.

Question 3

What can I do with this?

Accepted Answer

Use the metro, segment, and contractor breakdowns to see where this brand is being installed and replaced, and which contractors install it — equipment-replacement intelligence drawn from the permits that name the unit (mostly residential and small-commercial). Per-permit signal (address, scope, contractor, status, geocode, DQ flags) is queryable per row via the API.
